Giacomo Bersani
Computer Science graduate, currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Informatics in a double degree at USI 🇨🇠and UniMiB 🇮🇹.
I am passionate about software development and systems administration. I am currently working on a thesis on the simulation of datacenter network protocols.
Recently I have also been getting involved in Universal Blue, by contributing to their user count visualizations.
Tech I know
Stuff I worked on
My master thesis is on the topic of large-scale simulations of low-jitter datacenter protocols. I used OMNeT++ to simulate OpenFlow networks.

"The value of consent in the GDPR's web" was my Bachelor's thesis. It involved the creation of a Pyhon spider to scrape websites' privacy policies and a Jupyter notebook to analyse data.

I did a little project studying the effects of data quality on the performance of machine learning algorithms using Python. This was done as part of a course on Data Architectures.

I made some contributions to Universal Blue's user count visualizations. The generated graphs are shown on the project's website.
For the Mobile and Wearable Computing course, another student and I developed a mobile app for Android using Java.
For the Edge Computing in the IoT course, I developed a smart car park using Arduino alongside three other students. We used proximity sensors, LEDs, and an OLED display to create the final demo.
Three other students and I created a dashboard to visualize some Formula 1 data as part of the Visual Analytics course. We used Python, Bokeh, and Polars.

As an excuse to learn some JS/TS and React, I built this simple portfolio website. I hope you like it!
